By Robb Hicken/ BBB’s chief storyteller

In its efforts to improve business ethics, Better Business Bureau serving the Snake River Region presented through the Center for Character Ethics.

“A company’s most valuable asset is not something that can be bought or sold. It is trust – and it must be earned,” says Dale Dixon, CEO for BBB. “We are constantly striving to be better, so we’ve created with the Center for Character Ethics (CCE).”

BBB’s Center for Character Ethics provides assessment, training and recognition to help leaders, educators and students succeed.

“This is a powerful collaboration of professionals who seek to establish a clear strategy for advancing positive ethics, not just corrective intervention,” Dixon says. “We put a suite of programs in place that extends the BBB brand and gives individuals the confidence to intentionally commit to leadership ethics and ethical enterprising.”

Idaho’s CCE is part of a national organization, established in 1994, that gives Better Business Bureaus an added arm to assess, educate and publicly recognize people in the business community who set a high standard for ethics and integrity.

BBB is taking applications for the 2013 Torch Awards. This award celebrates the commitment that for-profit and non-profit enterprises make to the highest standards in leadership character ethics and ethical enterprising.
