Debt, fraud and bad business practices, oh my! The modern landscape can be a minefield for consumers. Every year, local, state and national governments pass new consumer protection laws, but scammers and bad businessmen continue to thwart the laws’ best efforts.
In an effort to better allow consumers as they head into the marketplace, Better Business Bureau is joining with federal, state and local government agencies to promote consumer education during National Consumer Protection Week, March 3–9.
Thousands of consumers turn to BBB as the preeminent resource on businesses, and our goal is to go the extra mile in encouraging consumers to take full advantage of their consumer rights.
Each day during NCPW, BBB will give a daily consumer protection tip on a variety of consumer issues, like choosing a contractor, protecting your identity, mobile security and other important marketplace issues.
